The Canada West Doorslammers' have been a staple at Mission Raceway for over 15 years. It started off as a place for guys with quick doorcars to race that did not want to battle slower bracket cars or dragsters. It was envisioned as a heads up doorcar class and was well ahead of its time here in the north west. It is unique in that the class runs similar to Top Sportsman but runs on a pro tree with a shielded tree. It really is a driver's race on the tree as there is a usual range in ets of 1.5 seconds. The guy leaving second gets to chase (advantage) but they also have to be on the ball leaving at the right time when there is no cross talk (disadvantage) and you see in your peripheral vision a guy out in front of you.

The class has proven to be extremely popular and has as many as 35-40 members in any given season and they have seen 32 car fields. Their turnout is routinely better then the Top Sportsman races at the division level in the NW.

For these reasons, they are a welcome addition to the Doorwarz family.

We'll post the competitors in the coming weeks. For now you can log onto the Canada West Doorslammer web site and take a look.
