GENERAL RACER REGULATIONS
- NHRA Pro ladder and Safety Tech
- Qualifying will be for a 16-car field (with Alternates). If less than 16 cars enter, the official Pro ladder for the number of cars making qualifying runs will be used (without being affected by breakages). If more than 16 cars enter, an option for a secondary field for any additional cars may be considered dependant on decision made by Class Official/Organizer (considered on per event basis).
- Alternates and Secondary field competitors will not earn Elimination Points.
- All racers/cars in competition must meet both class rules and NHRA Safety Tech rules in full in accordance to their performance. Failure to comply will be grounds for instant disqualification from the event.
- Minimum Ground clearance of 3” from front of nose to 12” behind the front spindle
- Towing allowed but you must stop at scales. All tow vehicles are subject to be searched by an Official at any time.
- All cars must scale following every qualifying and elimination run. Failure to do so will be considered forfeiting the run. If you pass the scales without scaling you forfeit the run. **If you break the beams you need to scale** If you lose in eliminations, and your opponent fails to make weight you will be reinstated into the eliminations only if you scaled and made minimum weight requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will be disqualified. It is the driver’s responsibility to verify with each track scale, the car and driver race weight prior to each race day.
- Minimum Race Weights are race-ready, car with driver, after completion of a run. Altering car or driver weight after a run is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate disqualification. All are subject to be searched by an Official at any time.
- Deep staging allowed, but starter will not wait for racer to get deep. Auto start will be on at ALL times. Once both vehicles are pre-staged either side stage light will activate a 7 second auto-start. Once your competitor stages, you will have 7 seconds to stage. If you fail to stage within that time the tree will automatically activate and you will be disqualified. Disqualifications will be based on a first or worse basis in accordance with the NHRA rulebook. Controversial decisions not covered by the NHRA rule book will be determined by the Class Official/Organizer. Courtesy staging is encouraged but not enforced.
- During qualifying, if a racer has issues BEFORE taking the pre-stage bulb, they may back out of the run in order to attempt to rectify the issue, and make another qualifying attempt ONLY if the class is still running. If the class has completed its round of qualification, and another class has begun, the racer would have forfeited their chance of running during that round.
- During qualifying or eliminations, if there are issues/malfunctions with the race track equipment (ie. staging lights, score boards, timing boxes..etc) - due to no fault of the racer – and therefore making the run invalid, the run(s) and racers affected by such malfunctions may choose to rerun. Reruns would occur after allowing for sufficient turn-around time to the racer and/or when the track officials are able to accommodate.
- All drivers must alternate lanes during qualifying. If you choose to ignore this rule, your second consecutive pass in the same lane will be disqualified.
- Any cylinder head is allowed as long as ONLY 1 spark plug per cylinder is functional.
- Entries may utilize ONLY 1 distributor or Mag.
- Air Bottles on N/A, Supercharged and Turbo Charged entries are to be filled with CO2 only. The use of Nitrous Oxide in place of CO2 is PROHIBITED.
- All fuels used are to be unmodified fuel as produced by the original manufacturer and must be commercially available. The use of fuel additives is PROHIBITED. All entries are subject to fuel check at any time.
- Nitro-methane is strictly prohibited on any/all combos.
- The use of specially produced “one off” parts that are not commercially available and are deemed by Class Official/Organizer to have a performance advantage is PROHIBITED.
- Head & Neck restraint MANDATORY
- Lower engine/ oil containment device MANDATORY
- Maximum front overhang 45” measured from the centerline of the front spindles
- NHRA chassis certification MANDATORY
- If your combo does not clearly fit into the current rules – it must be brought to the attention of the Class Official/Organizer PRIOR to the event so that formal additions to the written rules can be made if need be.
- All racers must complete, sign & submit a “Combo/Weight Acknowledgement Sheet” at each race to the Class Official/Organizer, prior to their first pass, in order to establish and confirm allowable race weight. If at any time it is determined that the submitted information is incorrect – it will be grounds for instant disqualification from the event.

RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE IN ORDER TO KEEP PARITY IN THE CLASS. CLASS OFFICIAL/ORGANIZER RESERVES THE RIGHT FOR ANY CHANGES AT ANY TIME - INCLUDING DURING EVENT.
